The OCR Study Design and Statistical Consultation Service provides support to junior investigators who are working with data on new or existing projects. This support is focused in four areas: study design, execution, data management, and statistical analyses.
Study design includes the development of study aims and hypotheses to be tested, consideration of endpoints to be measured, recruitment, and other methods.
Execution covers recruitment, data collection, questionnaire development, coding structures, randomization, and guidance as to types of software programs for data storage and retrieval.
Data management encompasses data entry, the development of data files/merging of files, and data cleaning.
Data analyses include examination of raw data using standard statistical techniques and packages.
The goal of this service is to support clients in the acquisition of the knowledge and skills required to perform the above skills independently. In order to provide the best service, it is recommended that the Study Design and Statistical Consultation Service be consulted during the design of the study.
