Advances in the prevention, diagnosis, treatment and cure of diseases depend on clinical research. Without volunteers, clinical research would not be possible. Studies need all types of volunteers. Some studies need persons with a specific disease, while other studies need healthy volunteers. Volunteers of all ages and ethnic groups are needed. 

Research volunteers have a unique opportunity to contribute to the future of healthcare. Research in many areas of healthcare is currently in progress at the University of Pittsburgh and affiliated sites.
