Clinical research plays a vital role in solving today's health challenges. Much of the medical care that individuals receive is based on results from past clinical studies of certain diseases or conditions. Clinical studies involve the collection and analysis of medical record information and investigation of new medical and non-medical approaches to disease prevention, diagnosis and treatment. Without volunteers and public support for clinical research, advancement in healthcare would not be possible. Participation in research may benefit the individual or others.
The Office of Clinical Research, Health Sciences (OCR) is committed to supporting clinical research by providing information and resources to the public. We believe that by partnering with the public, the health and well being of our community will be improved.
